Trying to register plugin as Deployment Admin without success

Hi,

I'm working for a customer with a hosted IFD deployment.

I'm trying to register a plugin in Isolationmode=None but it keeps telling me the plugin needs to be registered in isolation.

I connect to CRM using the Deployment manager credentials. I'm not logged on as Deployment manager on my laptop though, because the environment is hosted externally as IFD.


To register I tried both ways:

- Through Visual Studio with CRM Development Toolkit where I use the Deployment manager credentials to connect to CRM.

- Through the Plugin Registration Tool where I use the Deployment manager credentials to connect to CRM.

Both ways I keep getting the error "Plugins must be registered in isolation".

What could be wrong?

    I think with IFD you have to be on the server to run Plugin Registration tool

    Well that's what these two forum posts suggest.

    But I am able to connect to the CRM environment and register a plugin in Sandbox remotely with the plugin registration tool.

    What credentials are being used to register the plugin? The ones I enter in the tool or my Windows credentials on my local machine (Windows login)?

    when you register a plugin not in the sandbox you need to be a deployment administrator, you can read about that in my blog post

    ADFS Server name must be different with CRM Server

    This forum posts suggests

    Rebuilding the Plugin Registration Tool with IFD enabled has resolved this issue.

    The only other thing I can suggest is to make sure you have the latest version of the plugin registration tool

    Thanks Ben,

    I've looked into the SDK (2013), but there is no solution anymore for the Plugin Registration Tool? Where can I find it to rebuild it?

    good question, they seem to have removed it

    You could decompile the dll if you were really keen but I'm not sure that will help you in this case

    We tried deploying the plugin on the server with the same account and this didn't work either. Then we tried with the user that installed CRM (and is given Deployment Administrator rights automatically) and this worked. So there must me something wrong with the security settings of the user that was given to us. They're looking into that now.
