Multiple Lines within a repeating line on custom layout

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 10

Doing a custom report (specifically a Purchase Order Document,) preference is that it is in Word format.

Is it possible to have multiple lines within a repeating line, for example, the description and extended text to be below the other line fields? The reason for this is so we can have the description and extended text can span multiple cells to not take up so much vertical space on the report.

I am aware that you can simply use another line within the cell, but this does not allow me to merge the cells as per the example below. Screenshot-2021_2D00_01_2D00_20-083501.png

I assume this can not be done, as I'm unable to find any documentation about this, but would like to confirm.

I have the same question (0)

The example does this match how the data is presented on the PO, as in the sequential order? The lines are in “Line No.” order and “Comment” lines - which is how extended text is added to a PO - will follow beneath the “Item” lines. Meaning this structure is largely there.

If the comments need to act as child lines to the main PO lines you would have to modify the report. This way you could avoid adding extended text to the PO in BC and just call it on the report. You could then create a child repeating section for you PO lines.

Standard wise you will see something similar with showing dimensions per line

pardon for opening the topic once more. i am looking into this, too.

i ask myself if it is somehow possible to merge those cells on comment lines only? this way we would not have to change th exml structure of the report, and can use extended texts and manually added comments in the same default way.

    Hi Everyone,

We can do repeating option  on dataset (in Word)  to show all line items of child table  while designing the report  as shown below.

Make sure you must select one complete rows of line item table in word file  before applying it

Select complete rows of table--.> Select Dataset Item (not columns) --> Right Click-->   Insert Content Control --> Repeating

After the above step , add respetive cloumns by  selecting column elements
