Production Planning- Change Site and auto transfer raw material from one Site to another

I have scenario where i want to change the site from A to B  while doing production planning for the planned order for partial output qty and transfer required raw materials automatically to site b.

Example

Planned production generated for Site A - Finished for 100% Required Qty

Looking at my Site A, production capacity, i want to manufature 40% of my Finished goods at the Site B.

So want to generate another planned production order at site b for 40% required qty from the original planned production order.

Also want to transfer raw material from Site A to Site B automatically.

PPO 1 Site A 60%  Output qty

PPO 2 Sit3 B 40% Output qty

Please help on this.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Suppose that on-hand for raw materials are actually mainly stored on SiteA, then, for raw materials, you may setup item coverage group for SiteB to transfer from warehouse associated to SiteA.

So, once you will get a demand for SiteB for the finished good, planning will suggest some planned transfer orders from SiteA to SiteB to cover the demand of the planned production order from SiteB.

    I hope this will help.

    Best regards,

    Gabriel

    Hello

    I suggest

    1. From planned order use split and divide planned order from 100 to 40 and 60

    2. Use change to for change planned production order to transfer order

    3. Firm planned transfer order

    then

simply start master plan again and system create planned production order for 40 in site B and planned transfer order for all raw material from one site A to site B (of course if you need transfer).

    This solution is simple.

Remember you need this transfer order for your product. if you only create new planned order for  site B without transfer order next master plan can create new order for planned 40 each.

    Best regards TomS

    Thanks a lot TomS.

Point 1 , 2 and 3 worked and Planned production created for 40 in Warehouse B.

But how can i generate planned transfer order for RM from A TO B.

If i set Warehouse B should refill from A then Planned TOs for RMs are getting generated for A TO B.

Issue comes after this setting for planned production order generation for B.

After this refill setting, your above solution is not working :( . After firming PTO for FG, TO will generated for FG item but when i ran master planning again.

System does not generate planned production order for FG instead it create planned transfer for FG also from A to B.

    Please help on this

    Hello Ashish

If you have storage dimension group Site warehouse (on RM) then

for RM you need defined Released product/plan/item coverage

    general

    check change planned order type

for site A warehouse A1 purchase order

for site B warehouse B1 transfer order from A1 (or any other from site A)

Of course for FG you need create new route (on siteB) new BOM (you can copy from A - but must change warehouses in line) and create parameter Released product/plan/item coverage too (but FG have planned production order in site A and site B)

Now when you start Master plan (after you firm transfer order for 40) system look

    1. I need 40 FG on site B

    2. Create plannned production order

    3. Planned production order need material from warehouse B1

    4. In coverage (material) there are transfer from A1 (for RM)

    5. Create planned transfer order.

You can change Released product/plan/item coverage coverage group too like Period

If you have many order, then system not create many transfer order but accumulate this on period you define.

    Best regards

    TomS
