No build task to run found in VS Code

Today I have a "No build task to run found" error appearing in VS Code when trying to publish any extension.  The app.json appears correct.
I have never had to do anything to set up with a build task previously.  Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Found the issue was just that I had not opened the correct folder.  Problem solved.

    If your launch.json and app.json files are configured correctly and there are no errors in your code, a simple solution is to close the current VS Code window and reopen it in Visual Studio Code (without starting code). This action can often resolve any underlying issues.

    you can use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+B to build package process.

    The "No build task to run found" error typically occurs when the necessary build tasks or configurations aren't properly set up in your workspace. A quick fix is to close and reopen the current VS Code window. This often resolves any underlying issues. You can clear cache and redownload symbol.
