CRM add-ins grayed out in Outlook after installation.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I now this seems to be an ongoing battle with CRM add-in but im hoping to have a simpler solution rather than dipping into regedit based on the situation.

Customer's computer was able to work with CRM fine on his Win7 32bit machine. Customer recently had his computer reimaged to Win7 64bit. I reinstalled CRM 64bit customer logged into it's server, i guess, emails came down in his outlook, but the add-in was grayed out. We went to other customer's using CRM and it worked for them just fine but they are also operating on an older 32 image. How can i resolve the add-in issue and can CRM 32bit be installed in a 64 bit image?

What version of CRM and Office are you running?

You can re-enable the plugin easily by going to All Programs -> Microsoft Dynamics CRM -> Diagnostics - > Advanced Troubleshooting tab. Then clicking the "Enable" button under Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Outlook Add- in.

Have you already tried this? Is the add-in enabled temporarily or not being enabled at all?
