Reopen Historical Year

I have a few clients that need to post audit entries two or three years back.  This goes beyond the typical one year usually allowed for historical entries.  That said:

1)  If on GP 2013 R2 or later and one uses the reverse historical year feature.  Once they post their entries, do they just reclose the year as normally done?

2)  For clients on an older release, if they use the PSTL offering, do they have to reclose the year once the historical entries are done?

Please advise.  Thanks.

Jose

The short answer to both questions is yes. If you open previous years, you will have to close the year that was open like you normally would. This will once more create a closing entry transaction, reflected in the following year as your beginning balance.
