eConnect and state sales tax

(0) ShareShare

Hello,

I am trying to do a new econnect integration.  I'm simply trying to create an order or quote.  I can get everything working that I need, but I can NOT get it to calculate state sales tax.  Are there any tricks that  I am missing?  I have tried about every combination I can think of and no luck.  When I open the tax information in the GUI, I can see the tax there, but it's not in the line item part at the bottom of the order.  It's like it isn't rolling down the tax info.  I have tried every combination of @I_vUSINGHEADERLEVELTAXES and @I_vCREATETAXES.  Nothing works.  Any documentation I need to read?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I am writing directly to the stored procedures.  FYI.

Thanks!

Greg

Are you using DEFTAXSCHDS? Have you been successful in creating a transaction via the UI with State Sales Tax? Some of your code or some screenshots may be helpful.

Hello, thanks for the reply!  Yes, I have tried to send DEFTAXSCHDS with a 1 and a 0 and leaving it out all together.  If I enter the same order with the same customer in the UI it calculates sales tax properly.  I am not using .NET to access eConnect.  I am using Cold Fusion and am using the stored procedures.  However, I am able to do about everything I have tried, except calculating sales tax.  I truly believe it is some combination of data that I haven't tried yet.  I will attach a few screen shots of the order after it is put in the UI.  You will see that I am sending the tax info, it's just not adding it to the bottom of the order.  I can include my Cold fusion code if you need?  Thanks again!  This is driving me crazy.

Is that Tax Detail ID (INST) your state sales tax?

    Yes it is.

    <USINGHEADERLEVELTAXES>0</USINGHEADERLEVELTAXES>

    <CREATETAXES>1</CREATETAXES>

    <DEFTAXSCHDS>1</DEFTAXSCHDS>

That XML is from the eConnect sample for a Sales Transaction using the tax engine to auto create the taxes. The example does not pass any tax amount value to any node and does not provide any tax schedule or detail ID. If you've ticked all those boxes and you're getting the tax created but not the tax amount at the document level then I'd offer two things. Either a third party customization is getting in the way or you should start a ticket with Microsoft.

I'm sorry that is all I can offer. But I hold out hope there are smarter people than I in this forum who can offer more.

I wondered about a third party customization.  I believe it should be working, so that could be a possibility.  I will mess around some more with your suggestions and thank you SO much for your help!!!

Here is the full eConnect example, just in case it sparks something.

Ive tried copying your exact code and importing it with .NET econnect but am unable to get this to work.  Is something configured wrong that you might know of?

    Best,

    Falk0r
