Hi experts,

What permission sets are needed in Business Central to be able to allow a user to refresh Power BI reports?

The user had read access to all tables. Do they need modify access?

As far as I know, Power BI report will be automatically updated when you close it and reopen it.

Alternatively, you can have the superuser use the following function to record the required permissions.

BC power bi refresh permissions needed

To refresh Power BI reports connected to Business Central, the user does not need modify access to tables — read permissions are sufficient, but they must also have:

D365 POWER BI, BASIC permission set (for basic integration access)

D365 READ or equivalent read permission on the relevant data

Power BI workspace access (on the Power BI side) to refresh datasets
