Hi

I have a Business Central tenant in which the work date is always set to 4/8/2019. Can someone please explain why it is so when the work date ideally should be current working date?

Thanks in advance

Khudeja

Are you using a demo license? You can change the work date from My Settings (top right corner).

    Hi Khudeja,

Refer docs.microsoft.com/.../ui-change-basic-settings for more details on why workdate might not be set to today's date and it's implications.

As Stefano said you can change workdate from Mysettings (Gear icon) on the top right just after Global search

    Hi Stefano,

I was wondering about this work date issue as well. I couldn't find much info about it to be sure. Is it Demo license related?

P.S. I know I can change from My Setting, but after sign out/ sign in it is returned back to future date.

    Thanks,

    Nikolay

Work date is set to a fixed value in a demo company (or copied from Cronus). In a real company it's normally the today's date. After you change the work date, if you sign out or switch to another company, the work data reverts to the default work date. So the next time you sign in or switch back to the original company, you may have to set the work date again.

In a Sandbox environment the Workdate is set to latest Posting Date in the G/L Entry.

In old (C/AL) versions this was only done if the company name started with 'CRONUS'. So, if you don't want this, a trick was to change the company name to something else. That doesn't work anymore.

Does anyone know how to always have the Workdate set to Today, also for Trial, Evaluation and Sandbox environrments?

    Hi there,

You need to go to Company Information Table in SQL . Check the field "Demo Company" if it is set to 1, change it to 0.

    It will solve the issue.
