Production type field in D365 FO

Hi Experts,

Client is using discrete manufacturing production process in d365, now they want to use process manufacturing they have a following scenario,

Product A as main finished goods and production type is formula

Product B as CO-product and production type is CO-product

When they create the formula for product A and add the product B in the formula as Co product is working fine, now they want to create the formula for Product B which was a Co product in the previous formula but the formula field is disable in the released product form and also we can not change the production type to formula because of transaction.

If we create the new item so number of duplicated item will be created.

in other words if i explain, CO-Product could be used as main finished or raw material for other finished goods. how can we achieve this.

Hello, you may be able to set up an automated process using the BOM journals to convert one item number to another and set that up to run as a batch job. It sounds more like you would need to change the Co-product to an item type BOM, and then create a BOM for the co-product that has product A as a BOM item.
