Order ID Number maximum reached

One of our Order ID number sequence has reached it maximum and now returned to 0. The format of our Order ID is LUORDXXXXX. It had reached LUORD99999 and now it restarted to LUORD00001. Would there be any problems if we continue using the restarted order ID?

I observed that the order ID's that the users managed to re-use again was not in the database. It's incrementing to the ones that does not exist in the database. But I also think that this will eventually run out of available order ID using the old format. Adding 0's might be the best one solution for this. I'm just not sure if there are any integrated third party application that needs to be in the old format or reports that follows number of characters that might be affected.

The order ID's can be used to use different numbering schemes and also group orders by some external type. The prefix is totally up to you to decide. Are you trying to prevent users from selecting the document type ID?

Eventually you will run into some of the numbers and then you are going to have an issue and you will not be able to post.

Why not just add a 0 in front of your order id.   You have 14 characters to use.  so instead add LUORD0000001.  You will run into a problem because it will tell you that the order already exists in the system eventually.  And you might want to add 2 extra zeros so that you don't run into this for awhile.

They were able to use LUORD00001 - LUORD000074 up to now. I just noticed it when I saw a printed order form. I could probably insert another zero in the settings but is it the best way to solve this? And I'm also wondering why can the users still enter the order ID's.

Duplcate SOPNUMBE numbers are not allowed in the sales order history tables so GP will stop you if you ever try to insert a duplcate. Can you add a zero in front of yournumber to give you an extra digit?
