RMA locked record. This document is being edited by another user.

We are using Dynamics GP 2010 with Returns Management.  When I try to open one of the RMA's I get the following message;

This document is being edited by another user.

I found KB 866440.  And I tried the following;

DELETE DYNAMICS..ACTIVITY
DELETE DYNAMICS..SY00800
DELETE DYNAMICS..SY00801
DELETE TEMPDB..DEX_LOCK
DELETE TEMPDB..DEX_SESSION

How can I unlock this record?  It is the only RMA that is locked.  If it cannot be unlocked is there a way to delete this RMA.

Thanks

    Great idea! I will build that Smartlist now.

    Thanks so much.

    Yep, That's a safer way to clear it up if you can just get the culprit to open the locked RMA and then close it.

    In fact that gave me an idea.

    If you have Smartlist Builder, you can create a smartlist on SVC_Service_MSTR_Line_Access and have an easy way for users to see who has an RMA locked up. Then create a favorites reminder and you can see at a glance on your Home Page when you nave locked up RMA's.

    Great, thanks so much. It does just so happen it's always one user who can go back into them and 'fix' it, so it must be that user who isn't properly closing them.

    Thanks so much!

    It happens when someone opens a RMA transaction but doesn't close out properly. The SVC00205 table is a "lock" table & shows who has a particular RMA locked.

    Be sure and check with the user before clearing them out of the SVC00205 table. Someone could legitimately be accessing that RMA.

    If you use Contracts, there is a similar table for Contracts - SVC00640.

    Will this solution also work for a PO that is locked due to **ERRR: Editing PO; can't receive against?--Even though there is no one in this PO?

    The VMC Clinic has a PO016153 that says it is locked by another user and I do not see this.  We are unable to process this invoice in Great Plains because GP believes this PO is being EDITED .  Can you please help with this or let me know what should/could be done.

    I have tried to “Reconcile” This PO in GP (attachment) and I have looked for any errors on the RCT032756 that is trying to be processed in the Purchasing Batch PC 11-11 LC.  I find nothing wrong beside the fast that GP thinks a user is editing this PO.  Thanks.

    Hi there,

    I am hoping someone can answer Cherie's question above. Does anyone know HOW this can happen? I have a client that this happens REGULARLY with but I haven't determined a rhyme or reason with this yet. Does anyone have any ideas why it happens? Or what can be done to prevent it from happening?

    Thanks!

    I have a similar issue. Could you please help with me? When I run the SVC00205 table and it shows lots records but no one open the RMA transaction. So, another user can't log in unless I run the script. However, it happened too many times and user needs to request the records every time. Do you know why it happened all the time? Is it a bug? How can we prevent this situation? Thank you so much in advance!!

    Thanks for the response.  That table had the record of the locked RMA.  I cleared it and that fixed the issue.

    I used this KB Article for the steps to clear it.

    Review if the RMA in question has a line locked in the SVC00205 table, if the record exists there and you know nobody is in GP and you ran the script to clear stranded users, then this table has to be empty, unless you have econnect or other software integrating automatically.
