company names duplicated in sign in window

Hi

We're using GP 10 for multiple companies.  When I first log in to GP one of the companies appears twice in the dropdown.  This only happens if I log in with sa id.  When I log in with a regular id the company only shows once.  Please let me know if anyone else has seen this problem, what's causing it and how to resolve it.

Thank you.

Lenny

I would check the SY01500 or the company master table.   I would guess there may be a duplicate company ID.   Does the 'regular' id have access to all companies as sa does?

I dont see SY01500, and yes the regular user has access to all companies as well.

The SY01500 table resides in the Dynamics database.  You would have launch from the server the SQL Server Mgmt Studio (assuming you have SQL 2005).    Run this query agains the Dynamics database:    Select * from SY01500

The company is only listed once in SY01500

I have a client that is seeing the same behavior, except there are two company names that are duplicated when logging in as 'sa' and a different set of duplicated company names when another user logs in.  This is on Great Plains 7.5, SQL2000, with quite a few customizations.  They recently deleted two unused company databases and I'm guessing there are some stranded company ID records in one or more of the custom tables.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

Have you tried running the ClearCompanies.sql script? There are other tables involved that may have leftover records.

Glad to be of service. That script is an oldie but goodie!

Hello Richard - I have an isolated issue with only one user.  Everyone else only sees one company when switching.  But this one user sees a duplicate of all our valid companies in the drop down.

We use GP 2015 R2.  We also use FastPath ConfigAD for Single Sign-On into GP.  Again, the issue happens to only one user.  The rest is fine.

Any ideas how to fix this one?
