Cannot install CRM Online 2016 Outlook add-in into Outlook 2016 client

Everything is bang up to date on 2016 versions, yet when I try and install the 'thick' CRM client (as opposed to the CRM Outlook Web Add-in which works fine) the message that comes back is "Outlook installation: Microsoft Outlook isn't installed". I have seen a similar post on this matter, but in our case EVERYTHING is at the latest 2016 update level on a Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10 and Office 2016.

IMHO this is something to do with the Office 2016 installation which is 'Click to run' via our O365 E3 subscription, as opposed to a traditional .msi install. Maybe the Dynamics PG needs to talk to the Office PG to sort this out??

Having the same issue on a win 10 desktop. Did you happen to come up with a solution? I've tried re-installing office and the crm for outlook plugin with now success.

Same thing here. I cannot install the add-in in Outlook 2016.

same here i try to uninstall /install plugin and its fail i try everything

i think its after update windows 10 1607 the problem started

Same problem here. Windows 10, Office 2016 H & B 32bit, CRM 2016 Outlook plug in: CRM2016-Client-ENU-i386.

I have the same issue, Windows 10, Surface Pro 3, Office 365 Subscription.

Tried first with Outlook 2016 32bit, uninstalled and installed Office 2016.

Same issue with Outlook 2016 64bit.

This is happening because of corrupted registry entries while install and re-install of Office.

Problem got solved after uninstalling and re-installing Office manually by following steps mentioned below:
