Example CRM Solutions/Ideas?

First post, so I'm sorry  If I'm breaking any rules or there's a similar thread (couldn't see any)

Basically, I've spun up an Azure VM and installed CRM (2016) on it. I want to get some Dynamics experience again as I've not used it in a while and there's some future work I could get involved in.

Now I've only really done some customisation with CRM now and again, and performed a lot of testing of CRM solutions so as you can imagine my skill set is pretty limited. I'm undergoing some training but I wanted to this is on the side.

Are there any example business requirements or ideas anywhere I could use, where I could then design and think about how I could implement this in CRM and start adding extra entities (if required) and workflows?

Thanks for any help

An interesting model that I have used elsewhere is something like a car rental model that gets you thinking about sales processes and entity relationships.

    Hi,

If you're looking for configuration type workflows, try to put yourself in your user's footsteps as an end user. Maybe, when somebody's phone number changes then email them to say you got the update, then create a task for a queue to verify it. That's a silly example but things like that are what you'll get more often than not.

Hope this helps! I'd appreciate if you'd mark this as Answering your question.

    Thanks,

     Aiden

Thanks for the advice, If you're able to answer the following question then sure, but going on from what @Peter Clements said. I'm kind of looking for a model I can base an organisation on. So I can start developing workflows based on that. Know of any models I could use?

The best way to get these business requirements is probably to search these forums, or to look at some of the linked blogs, as this is where people ask for specific help with solving their business requirements.  For example, I have a question I have asked here, and there are plenty of other posts of a similar nature.  You could probably use these to challenge yourself as a starting point

As you are looking for some practice on CRM, I would strongly recommend you to develop a xRM system for "some" business which you have very good idea.

Some thing like "Boots customer care system - how they take customer complaints, how they will ship orders, pending orders, products in store etc.."/ "dad's business" etc kind of things where you don't need to worry about some one to give you clear requirements.

For ex one of my good friend @NeilParkhurst, He want to learn USD,  he likes to do fishing and took the same thing as his requirement and developed his own USD and learned lot and became an MVP as well now :)

Hope you understand my point of view... All the best !!
