SEND TO PDF Functionality on a Terminal Server

Does anyone have users that take advantage of the SEND TO PDF functionality within GP from a terminal Server?

If so, do you have to have some sort of "enterprise level" license?  Do ADOBE print jobs back up on the Server?

Thanks!

    Hi David,

Generally speaking, we didn't have much success with ADOBE PDF Writer on TS (or Citrix) in the past years.. It worked not too bad until V 8.0 of PDF Writer, but after that we encountered many issues... There is not much benefits of using the 'Sent to PDF...' option in GP, rather than using a generic PDF printer queue.

I think the 'Sent To PDF..' option was created back in the days when common PDF printers were not usual. We have had lots of success by installing tools like PDF Creator or CutePDF on the TS for the GP clients. Then the user would just use the ad-hoc printer queue to generate a PDF document and save it on either the network or his/her local drive.

With auto-map feature of TS, you can even have the user's own printer queues assigned when login into GP as their default printer. Check with your network administrator that manages the TS server.
