This is dynamics 365 Online, latest version.
I have created a custom app which certain users should be in by default.
This includes hiding certain views that they don't need to see so the OOB app won't work.
I have set the security role correctly for the custom app so the users can access, and set "Hide for All Roles" on the standard "Dynamics 365 - custom" app. So I believe the user should be directed to the custom app when they log in using the URL https://mycrm.crm4.dynamics.com however they're still getting the OOB app and having the switch to the custom app in the switcher.
Is there a resolution for this?

This is the expected behavior like explained in below blog:
The url https://mycrm.crm4.dynamics.com will always open the Dynamics 365 - Custom app.
For particular app landing - use https://mycrm.crm4.dynamics.com/Apps/yourcustomApp
