Outlook plugin for CRM: access all records available online in offline mode

Hello,

Some of our sales representative want to work in offline mode and synchronize once per day as they used to with our former CRM system. According to them, while working remotely with our on-premise setup accesing through VPN, they often have speed issues.

Is it possible to sync offline whole records they have access while been online?

We have a 'small' database: 15 Gb with attachments. I already tried to setup filters with XrmToolBox but I'm wondering how to setup filters in a manner it will work for all users who will use offline mode.

If you have any other suggestion or comment. I know it's not the purpose of it, that only subset of records should be used.

Thank you

Apart from the link provided by Aftab, please also see if your users have got following security roles permissions/privileges:

    -Go offline

    -Sync to outlook

--> As long as the user has acccess, click go online, then sync to CRM and also will get the records accordingly in align with their security role, entity offline availability, and also only get the data based on the user filter you set before.

You cannot make a user who doesnt have access to read records that they even have no access of those records, for example = a Salesman only can see his record or a CSR cannot see Lead records, etc, so it does respect the privilege like they have in Online mode.

Or if you allow user in online mode to see all records, but in offline mode you restrict them only can see their record then, that is the usage of this sync filter template, the filter criteria is quite similar to adv fnd.

Another question, you are wondering setup filter for all users, you can use the Sync Filter Manager --> there is a tab for user sync filter

Additional comment from me, The reason why we need to create a filter for users because we need to be careful on database size in user local PC and also during offline some users dont care about other people records, they only care about their record, unless the records are dependent master data.

    Hope this helps you!

    Thanks.
