Create a marketing list from a view

I would like to create a marketing list from a view that I have created in the contacts entity. The problem is that the view has over 4K contacts. CRM seems to want me to add these contacts in increments of 250? That would take forever to accomplish.  I've only been using CRM of a few months and am hoping someone has found a way easily doing this.

Is there any other was to create this marketing list without selecting 250 contact 18 times? And, I have additional marketing list that are just as large that need to be created.

    Hi Janet,

You can create a Dynamic marketing list, which sounds like exactly what you need. It lets you set up a query for records that belong to the list, which means it'll stay up to date as new records are created or updated and fit the criteria. In your case, you'd just set up the query to match your existing view.

Here's a link with step by step instructions www.microsoft.com/.../create-a-marketing-list-in-the-crm-marketing-work-area.aspx

If this was helpful, I'd appreciate if you would mark this as a Verified answer.

    Thanks,

     Aiden

Thanks everyone for the suggestion. I actually need a static list. I guess I'll have to add these records in increments of 250.

If you are using on premise deployment, you could do update on UserSettingBase  table and increase this limit, once you are  done you can bring it back to 250.

    Refer: mayankp.wordpress.com/.../changing-crm-grid-records-from-250-to-1000

    Hope it will help

    Thanks

Why? When you create a Marketing List that is Static, you have several options for adding Members to the List, one of them is to  use Advanced Find - if you select the Advanced Find option you can select your system or personal view and populate the static list from it.

    Hi Janet,

Following are some facts on adding members to a Marketing List:

    1. When you are adding from a view (can be max. upto 250 at a time), select all records on the view and click on 'add to Marketing list'>>then select desired list

    2. Create a dynamic marketing list having the same query as your view have

    3. Create a static Marketing list and select appropriate option to add members like add using lookup, add using advanced find, the problem with static list would be again the same i.e you can add 250 at a time

For this matter what I would suggest is-use your dynamics list as static-how??

When you make a query in your dynamics marketing list which would be similar to your view; add one more line of query, which would be 'created on or before today'- this will limitize your list till today and contacts which you will create tomorrow onwards will not be added to the list.

    Hope it helps!!

    Prashant,

"3. Create a static Marketing list and select appropriate option to add members like add using lookup, add using advanced find, the problem with static list would be again the same i.e you can add 250 at a time"

The user display limit (e.g. 250 record limit) does not apply when you use the Add using Advanced Find option to a Static Marketing list.  After running the query, there is a checkbox at the bottom of the results window that gives you have the option to select from the records found or to add all records returned from the query (adding all can be more than the 250 user display limit).

Thanks for the info, I missed it somehow.

In that case it can work  for static list and resolves your problem Janet
