Importing Solutions without Dependencies

Hi All,

Im trying to import our Sales solution from staging to PROD and we have a solution in staging that is not ready for PROD yet, FieldOne.

The following components are missing in your system and are not included in the solution. Import or create all missing components and then try importing this solution again.

my question is, is there a way to import a solution file by taking out the target dependencies that makes it fail?

Thank you

Regards

Yes, you can manually remove the missing dependencies from the solution.xml file after you have exported the solution from your staging environment.

The xml should look like this at the end:

    ....
    </RootComponents> <MissingDependencies /> </SolutionManifest> </ImportExportXml>

In most cases this will work, but, if you have made some changes in the unmanaged layer to a field that originates from the FieldOne solution, and this field is included in your unmanaged or managed export from your sales solution, you will have a dependency that cannot be removed.

So basically the answer depends on what is inside of your sales solution :)
