RMS SQL Table Definitions

Greetings All,

I have been tasked with pulling some data from the back end tables for our various RMS databases.  I've been searching for some "official" Microsoft Dynamics RMS SQL Table Definitions documentation and I can't find any.  Have any of you run across documentation of this nature in your travels?

Thank you in advance for your help,

sks

    Searching for the same thing.  Your best bet is to try to create database diagrams, what version of SQL Server are you running?

    Here are some helpful link:

    Hi Chazh345 and thank you for your respons. We are running SQL 2008 R2.  I have begun creating relationships based on Primary and foreign keys.  But understanding what all of the columns really mean in relationship with the application is a more involved task.  Hopefully there is some kind of documentation out there.  Good luck on your search as well.

    I've been looking for this as well.  Did you ever find anything?  Thanks.

     There are actually no real table relationships in the RMS database.  However since the naming conventions are easy, you usually can just join ID to ItemID, or ID to PurchaseOrderID, ID to OrderID, ID to RecallID, ETC.

    The only other help you will get is by using SP_HELP on the table.  For example EXEC SP_HELP @objname = 'dbo.item';

    Use you could use the schema and the customization guide.

    The schema will give you each table and data type

    customization guide will give you appropriate values, but the guide is very outdated

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../rmscustomizationguide

    Download link is located at the top right side.

    Ed,

    Can anyone view the customization guide in your second link?  I have access to customer source...as a customer, but it says I do not have access.

    Thanks,

    jane
