Hello All,

we are thinking to set up a batch job which runs overnight and calculates cost against all daily transection. This would help us to report accurately on Margin and Cost.

Are there any implications we should be concern about before we set this up.

In a month how many times we can run recalculation?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Hitesh,

There is no restriction on running the recalculation. Usually, it can run daily or weekly and a closing each month. In one case, where there were too many inventory transactions, we did run it every night and a closing each week.

    Hi Hitesh,

We can schedule a batch on every night or weekly twice or weekly once or monthly twice or every month once when closing. As Andre said, inventory transactions will be more based on the batch occurrence.

In addition to that, When you run batch on daily basis, you will get the cost posted exactly in most of the time when issue & receipt. So, it will help you when you are submitting daily reports to management on sales & inventory side.

    Thanks,

There is no limitation at all, just based on your business requirement. I have seen some client run inventory closing every half year or weekly.

In additional, run recalculation will give more accurately on Margin and Cost for FIFO, LIFO, or average-weight, but not help for standard valuation method.
