Product Keys Available at Release Date

I think it's a very poor business practice to hype up the release of a product and then release it without providing the keys to use it.  I log into customer source and go to generate keys but not 2018 exists in the drop down.

If customers are on a maintenance plan then part of that is access to new updates and releases.  Please make the keys available when the release is posted.

My thoughts exactly! I'm on perpetual, which they said would automatically have the keys released, but they are not there!

Thousands of dollars a year and we don't get keys along with a product release.  So why do others get the keys first is what I'd like to know

The operations team is working on getting those keys available as quickly as they can. Please be patient.

For one, you don't know that as you do not work with Microsoft.

Second, the whole point is that it should be released along with the product.

Just because I do not work for Microsoft does not mean I do not know. You can get a lot more success with honey then with vinegar and being that I have been working with GP since the birth of the internet I have plenty of contacts. If you are trying to deploy GP 2018 it should be in test mode anyway. Waiting a day or two is not the end of the world.

I have been working with GP since 8.0 - a long time as well.

I'm not sure why you would use honey then vinegar as that seems odd; unless you meant "than"?

Either way, if Microsoft (or any company) doesn't see the frustration of a user, they will never resolve the issues.  I am not alone in this frustration.  Versions used to be released with minor versions and/or hotfixes and the number of hotfixes released has dwindled.  I have reported numerous issues to Microsoft about the product and am in NEED of getting a fix in place.  When I install it, I should NOT be in trial mode as I'm a licensed user/client of the product.

Since GP 2018 was just released you should be doing any upgrades on a test server and then have your users test everything before deploying in production. I am sure those keys will be available very soon. We have all been concerned with how Microsoft devotes resources to GP but from our side we can only do so much. You can direct a support to sales operations and help put pressure on them.
