How do I remove time from a contract line?

We are using contracts to track time spent on cases against a total block of time.  I noticed that if a case is entered incorrectly and then later deleted, the time deducted from the total block of the contract still remains.  Is there a way to put the time that was entered from the case (that has since been deleted) back on the contract?

    You are deleting cases (rather than deactivating/cancelling them)?

    If you were deactivating (cancelling) the records you should be able to trigger a workflow to update the contract to add back the time on any cases when they have their Status changed to 'Canceled'.  You may need some custom fields to capture this data.

    *  If you would ever reactivate such a case and want to charge for the time spent to date then you will likely need another workflow (to update the Contract to add back the time spent to date) when you reactivate the record.

    If you are deleting the case record that was created in error:

    *  You would need to interrupt the deletion process e.g.  to reduce the time spent to 0 (and allow the recalculation of the Contract field) before the record was deleted.

    *  Another option would be to recalculate the time remaining periodically from the sum of associated (to make sure that any deletions were removed from the calculation).  This would mean that the figure wouldn't always be 100% accurate.

    Thanks for the suggestions but is there a way to do this after the fact?  All of your suggestions require a process to be in place prior to the deletion.

    As I know there is no way to 'undo' it...

    Unless you need to create new field.
