Fixed Assets over depreciation

One of my clients started noticing their assets being over depreciated in February 2015.  They reset the life of their assets in an attempt to resolve this issue. Unfortunately:

  • The over depreciation happened every month from February 2015 - December 2015.
  • The depreciation was properly calculated for all of their assets in January 2016.
  • The over depreciation happened every month from February 2016 forward

The assets are all using either straight line - original life, or straight line - remaining life.  The averaging convention is mid month (15th).  Do you have any idea what is causing this or how to stop it?
