Dimension error in Job

Posted on by 4

Dear Experts,

I got the error when I run "Post WIP to G/L".

Department dimension is code mandatory for GL 7310.

When I check WIP entries, Department dimension code has been selected in all lines including 7310.

I have checked in Job card and I could not find where dimension is missing.

Where else I can find other than that?

Look forward to hearing from your advice.

Regards,

Sweety

    Pyone,

Ah, the Shortcut Dimensions and NAV. Shortcuts to show them on the Job Lines you will need your Partner to show the field. It is doable and not hard.

Now, as for the Error Message, I am guessing GL Account 7310 has a Mandatory Dimension Department that needs to be populated. If you can go to Navigate/Dimensions and make sure you have a Department Dimension present.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Dear ZHU,

    Thank you for your advice.

For this client, Department is shortcut dimension.

    I am not technical.

but I have tried debugging but I can't find any clue.

    Thank again.

    Regards,

    Pyone

Hi, sorry I didn't notice it was NAV2017, indeed there is no such button in NAV2017.

But you can add Global Dimensions to the screen, I guess you are missing this setting.

Hi, This seems to be an issue with Dimension.

Have you confirmed the Dimension on the lines other than the Header?

If it is still difficult to find the problem, it is recommended to debug via development environment.

You can see which record has the problem in Debug.
