Excel Export Solutions Q

Is there a limit on the characters that can be in your file path? I browsed to the file I wanted included and it doesn't show the full path. Anytime I run the Smartlist it returned "Document Not Found". I then placed the file within a shorter directory on my C Drive and it ran successfully

On the lines that say "Preparation Macro" and "Completion Macro" are these just notation fields or do they run your relevant macro's?

    JDOC,

I believe the file length limitation is the same as that of Windows Explorer. Do you by chance have any spaces in the file path?

The Prep and Completion Macro are exactly what they sound like. The preparation macro will execute the excel macro on the specified file before the data is imported, the completion macro will execute after the data is imported.

    Regards,

    Thanks for your suggestions.

My 'original' file path, where it wouldn't run, because it truncated the path, had 163 characters. Yes it has spaces in Directories and File name itself

The file path where it did run, has 74 characters, and again has spaces in Directory name and file name

So problem seems to be why it truncates the path, even though its only 163 and not 256 characters (I browse to the path in the Export Solutions screen, I don't type it in)

Based on your testing it sounds like it is probably a Dynamics/Smartlist thing. In this situation I would map the path on my local machine and then try the export using the mapped drive.
