I am encountering an error when attempting to accept a purchase order from my intercompany: "You cannot change the Requested Delivery Date when the Promised Delivery Date has been filled in."

I’m not sure where I can go to resolve this issue, as I haven't encountered this error before. Can anyone guide me on how to fix this error or what might be causing it?

Error message:
You cannot change the Requested Delivery Date when the Promised Delivery Date has been filled in.

The error message you're encountering is related to the rules governing the interaction between the Requested Delivery Date and the Promised Delivery Date.

The Promised Delivery Date is the date you have committed to delivering the order to the customer. By default, it is blank. This date exists on both the Header and Line. Entering a Promised Delivery Date on the Header will lock the Requested Delivery Date on the Header. Changing the Promised Delivery Date on the Line will lock the Requested Delivery Date and update the Planned Delivery Date on the lines.

If Promised Delivery Date is entered, the system will not allow you to set or change the Requested Delivery Date. This behavior is default functionality of BC.

Solution: To address the issue, you can explain to the intercompany team that the system's default functionality to ensure consistency and avoid conflicts between the dates.

I am not trying to change any dates; I just want to accept the intercompany document. However, when I attempt to carry out the line action, I receive the error, 'You cannot change the Requested Delivery Date when the Promised Delivery Date has been filled in.' Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

    Hello Michael,

    Clear the Promised Delivery Date.
IC tries to update the Requested Date, but BC blocks it when Promised Date is already filled in. Remove the Promised Date on the incoming sales line → accept again.
