Incoming & Outgoing Email Status shows Failure or Not Run

I have recently migrated our Exchange to Exchange Online and started to move CRM mailboxes over to use Server-Side Synchronization.

After applying the default settings to use Server-Side Sync for both Incoming & Outgoing email, I then Tested & Enabled mailboxes and everything completed successfully and happy days.

However, now I am experiencing issues where users are not sending or receving email through CRM. I then go and check their Mailbox status and it either says Failure or Not Run. I Test & Enable the mailbox again and it completes successfully and they are able to carry on.

What gives?

    Hi,

Depending on the load on CRM Server, you should get the test results within 15 minutes. If the test fails, you’ll see Failure in the status field. If the test isn’t complete, you’ll continue to see the previous test and enable results.

The following tables describe issues that can cause the test to fail.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Joe,

If the status is not Success then the email processing will not work. As you did, you need to test & enable mailbox to process emails. If the emails are still not working after test & enable (and status as success) then you can go through the below docs for troubleshooting-

    technet.microsoft.com/.../dn850386.aspx

    crmbook.powerobjects.com/.../common-problems

    docs.microsoft.com/.../error-logging-server-side-synchronization

    Hope this helps.

My point is that I had already Tested and Enabled these mailboxes successfully. Now they either show Failure or Not Run. So let's say I have 200 mailboxes, all of which were tested and enabled successfully two weeks ago when I moved over to Server-Side Sync. Now only 10 mailboxes show "Success". 90 say "Not Run", and the other 100 say "Failure".

    What happened?!!

1.Mailbox should be configured for incoming, outgoing & ACT as SSS.

2.O365 Global Admin has to approve those mailboxes. Did that happen?

    3.Test & Enable step

4.You can check alerts for each mailbox for any issue in CRM record itself
