Dynamic vs Static marketing lists - failure to be viewed in contact cards.

Hi,

When you add contacts to a campaign from a dynamic list the details of those campaigns do not show up in their contact card. If you add members via a static list the campaigns and the marketing list do show in the contact card.

I can understand why dynamic lists do not show but if a contact has been involved in a campaign then why do some appear and others do not?

    Hello Allistair,

The fact that some cotnacts are showing the information and others are not, could be do to the Relationships that were created for these contacts, or the list that those contacts belong to.

Unfortunately, due to the complexity of this issue we are unable to assist with this request effectively in the Forums. I would like to suggest the following resources to assist:

    * Submit a support incident so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist you with reviewing each Contact record to better determine why some are showing the campaign and others are not .

    Thank you for your understanding!

    Best Regards,

We recently found that contacts who are members of a dynamic marketing list do not show that marketing list on their contact record nor do they show any campaigns that used that marketing list.  Seems to be a limitation of dynamic marketing lists that isn't well known.

Contacts are not members of a dynamic marketing list, they do not have a N:N relationship with them and cannot show any data about which lists they may or may not have been involved with in the past or present.

If you need to do this then I would suggest you use Dynamic Marketing Lists to create the relevant list of Contacts for a Campaign then copy as a static list (using the OOB feature to do this), then this "snapshot" list will have an N:N relationship with the Contacts.
