Appointment Emails being sent out automatically

I am hearing from users that appointment emails are being sent out automatically. We do not have a workflow set up to do this. It is my understanding that these notifications only get sent when the user manually initiates them from Outlook. Is there a setting or maybe an Outlook parameter that could be doing this? We don't want emails getting sent out without user intervention. Thanks, Jay

If you aren't using emails in CRM, you could disable outgoing emails in your system settings.

Jay,

Something else to consider is if a user creates an appointment in CRM and adds other users to it and those users have the CRM Outlook client installed then the sync between CRM and Outlook will automatically put that appointment on their calendars without them being asked. Not actually an email but if a user sees the appointment on their calendar they might think they accepted an email since that is usually how an appointment gets on the calendar.
