Bing Maps with Form Scripting

Hello everybody!

I need to show/hide the new feature "Bing Maps" at my Leads form, depending on the Rol of the user using the CRM. I've tried by using "Business Rules" but since this new feature is not a field, there is no way to doing so.

I guess I have to do some JavaScript to check the user and then show/hide the Bing Maps. But I am truly new to this, could this be done by JavaScript? if so, where can I look up for help please.

thanks to everyone!

    Hi,

On page load event you can get a list of logged in user role by getUserRoles(), refer below URL for more details,

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../d7d0b052-abca-4f81-9b86-0b9dc5e62a66

once you get the list of user roles based on your condition you can hide or show bing map section, refer below URL for hiding section on the form at runtime

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg328489.aspx

    Thanks,

    Vijay

    Thanks Vijay, it did worked!

But another non-coding solution was to put the map into a whole section and collapse it.

    Hi Raulocana,

I agree with you to some extend. But even to collapse section based on user's role you'll need to do some sort of coding on page load event of form.

If you are purely looking for non-coding solution, then you can use "Role Based Form" feature of CRM. Below are the steps you can follow,

1 - Create two forms, one with Bing map one without for entity

2 - Assign security roles whom you want Bing map to be visible on the form to first form (with map)

3 - Assign security roles whom you want Bing map not to be visible on the form to second form (without map)

4 - Save and publish all customization

This way you can achieve your functionality without coding.

    Thanks,

    Vijay
