SL 2015 & SQL

Currently using MS Dynamics SL 2011, included with the installation software was SQL Server Standard 2008 R2.  We are in the process of installing MS Dynamics SL 2015.  During the installation process, the software package states that at minimum, a version of SQL Server 2012 is required.  We do not have that version and have contacted support and customer source asking where we can obtain the version that is required for the MS Dynamics SL 2015 without any success.  I have asked why, if MS Dynamics SL 2015 requires this, why is it not included with the software package?  I would think that it would be, considering that none of the other programs we use require this.

I am starting to wonder what the annual support cost is for.  At this point, we may have to consider staying with the 2011 software.

I would appreciate any help from anyone regarding this.

Thank you,

EAH/CCJSA
