Error accessing GP Business Portal

I have a user that is getting "An unexpected error has occurred" when trying to access our GP Business Portal.  The domain account had been renamed right before the Business Portal user account was created.  I was wondering if this unexpected error was caused by the domain account rename.  Any suggestions on how to resolve this error?

Thanks.

    MPENCE,

Are you experiencing similar issues with other users or just this one?  You could remove and re-add the user.  That may help to resolve the problem.

You could also try doing the following to get more debugging information.

+ Open your web.config for the particular SharePoint site.  The path would be something like the following:  d:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80.

+ Change CustomErrors to False and CallStack to True, and run through your scenario again.  You should get more detail after doing this.

    Rob,

Thanks for your suggestion. I deleted and re-added the user and this was somewhat successful. I am able to access the Business Portal now and all information seems to be correct except the menu at the top right of the business portal still shows the previous active directory user before the domain account rename. Do you have any suggestions how to resolve this?

    Thanks,

    Rob,

Also in answer to your question about other users, this is the first time I have experienced this issue with any of my BP users.  I very rarely rename domain accounts because it always seems to have consequences.

    Mike,

The user name in the upper right hand corner is something that is owned by SharePoint.  I'm not exactly sure what to do to make that refresh.  You could try a SharePoint forum for an answer on that.

Thanks Rob. I will post there for that issue.
