CRM 2016 Word Template Hyperlink

One of the fields we pass to a word template is a URL. I would like to format this URL as a hyperlink and hide the URL under a label such as "Click here". The controls that link the CRM data to the word template do not appear to support this sort of functionality. On email templates I have used Document Download to present the hyperlink but I can't work out how to do this successfully with the controls.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

RE: CRM 2016 Word Template Hyperlink

    Hi Reef ,

as i know it is not possible, because the only allowed field types are plain text and pictures.

I could suggest you to build the full url in crm and report them in word template, as plain field.

Maybe in this way the result text will be editable.

    Please let us know.

    1. Download word template from CRM Settings > Templates > Word Template (select entity and related tables)
    2. Edit Word template using Developer Tab > XML Mapping
    3. Add Fields using RICH TEXT
    4. Highlight field and copy (ctrl+v)

    1. R+Clk highlighted field and on word popup menu, select LINK
    2. Paste CRM Field name to the bottom 'ADDRESS' field (ctrl+V)
    3. Save and Upload Template to CRM Settings > Templates > Word Template

This method appears to capture some underlying linking between the field in the Word Template and the CRM data. There are NO typing field names in this solution as this appears to interfere.

Note: I didn't want to hide the Hyperlink in this solution, as I wanted it visible.
