Distribution order management (DOM) Execution Location Priority

Hi,

I am trying to use Distribution order management. I have managed to perform the setup in D365. however, i do not see the D365 changing the warehouse as per the DOM rule.

My warehouses are Warehouse management enabled and i could see the suggest fulfillment Location.

I see the warehouse that should be fulfilling my orders but i have sufficient inventory on hand

Here are some things to consider when you use the DOM feature:

- Currently, DOM looks only at orders that are created from commerce channels. Sales orders are identified as sales orders when the Commerce sale option is set to Yes.

- Microsoft hasn't tested DOM with advanced warehouse management features. Customers and partners must be careful to determine whether DOM is compatible with the advanced warehouse management capabilities and processes that are relevant to them.

- DOM is available only on the cloud version of Commerce. It isn't supported in on-premises deployments.

Hi Sujeet,

Have you set up the said warehouses as part of the same fulfillment group? Also, cannot see the screenshot if you've attached. Is there a way for you to opload it again please?

Thanks for the message, Yes i have considered all this as configured the system. However, my warehouse is listed in the suggestion of fulfilment over sales line but system does not change the warehouse. Additionally, I have made Apply result yes.

hey Nandita, I have setup warehouse and item. I have not used the Fulfillment group as of now. I am attaching the screenshot again.

This warehouse is not Advance warehouse.

Please could you try setting up fulfillment groups Sujeet? That's listed as a setup required for DOM. Please let me know if this works. I'm trying to find out how DoM works (or doesn't!) with advanced warehouse management. :) Will revert if I find anything on this.

Hi Ramune, So if an order isn't set up or created via a commerce channel and is created via a sales order entry directly in the D365F&O system, will it not be considered as part of the DoM cycle?

Hi Nanditha,

DOM feature is created for Retail. If you do not have retail enabled (like call center) or your sales order is not created in POS, this may not work.

even i have validated this DOM works only for retail activated order only,

Thanks for the message, however the outcome is same with the fulfillment group as it was with fulfillment location. DOM does not change the warehouse.
