GP Record Level Notes, Locking

Does anyone know how to lock down record level notes in GP? For instance, we added a note to the allocation setup screen records, as a result of a mass data update. I want people to be able to view the note, but don't want them to be able to change or delete the note. Can you set security for the notes for a given module?

Upgrade to GP 2013 R2. New document attachment functionality enables attachment security.

I would definitely consider the upgrade as a solution, document attachment is one of a lot of features that you might need to to take a look at.
