Extending BC standard API to Include Custom Field

Hi All

We are trying to import vendor records from an external system via API, and the vendor number from the external system is mapped to a new user field in BC. Can we extend the standard BC API to include the external number user field or do we have to create a new custom API for this? I guess API call can look up a custom field to match records if we include a custom field

Unfortunately you cannot extend standard API, you need to create a custom one or check this blog
