Folder Path in BC365 OnPrem (BC24.2)

Hello everyone,

I am facing a challenge and hope someone can help me.
I am using the OnPrem version of Business Central 365 and have set up my instance via the BCContainerWizard in Docker. I am using the WebClient.

My goal:
I want the user to be able to open the File Explorer through the AssistEdit icon or the OnLookup function in the "Folder Path" field to select a folder. The selected path should then be entered into the field.

I appreciate any help and guidance on how to solve this problem.
Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Thomas

    Hi,

You cannot access local file system with a cloud optimized extension.

If your extension is not cloud optimized, then customer need to buy additional module in license for which customer need to pay per user / per year. These modules price increases every year.

** Read the current pricing using this article - The “Universal Code Initiative” (waldo.be)

But if you are doing it for your learning / testing with developer license then you can use -

    • Function - UploadFile from Codeunit 419 - File Management
    • For this you will have to mark app.json (property - "target": "OnPrem")

    Hope this helps you.
