Hi All,

Here is the requirement from the user:

Once the Purchase Requisition (PR) is approved, the initiator/originator should receive a notification confirming that the PR has been approved.

Currently, the PR workflow is configured as a global workflow, and the same workflow is being used by two different entities. I have already configured the setup based on the entity level.

However, the user’s latest request is:

The approval notification should be sent only for one specific entity and other entity should not receive this notification

Please let me know the process or if an alternative approach is recommended.

Hey,

I think you can solve this by using Power Automate with the dataverse connector OR Business event. I had another requirement and solved it with that idea. You can read some details in my blog:

Let me give you an brief idea:

In the workflow engine you dont send any notifications when a workflow is approved.

The dataverse connector is picking up events when a row is added, this can be different workflow steps.

You need to make a decicion in the flow now or after the parse JSON, checking if row added (event) is because a workflow has been approved AND if the approval was made in the legal entities where you want to send out emails => This is the reason why you use Power automate, because you can filter the events by legal entity or workflow step.

Use Parse JSON to get all the information for further processing.

create a flow step where you send out emails to the originator => the information you will get from the first step in your flow, whether it is a dataverse connector or business event.
