Forgot to add dimension to customer import

We updated our customer list with about 640 new records using a configuration package. Unfortunately the default dimension codes where not included in this being:

We need this for reporting, especially the mandatory Division dimension.

I am looking for a quick way to update any customers records (+650 records) with the attached default dimensions?

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

It looks like you need to update all the customers with the same dimension information.

If this is correct, go to the Customer List page

    1. Using filters and Select More, select all the customers missing the dimension information.
    2. Use ALT+Q to find Dimensions-Multiple.
    3. In the page that opens, assign the Dimension Codes, Values and Value Posting you need to add to the selected customers, click OK.

This will update all the selected records with the default dimension information.,

you can also use config pack to import default dimensions for all the customers (table 352)

If you have a developer available they can easily write a procedure that updates this for you at least as long as you want the same value fo all your customers. I would prefer that over the configuration package.

thanks for the suggestion, the problem i am having with this, is for me to see which customers do not have the dimension information, I would need a separate list and manually select these one by one? I tried checking on the customer list page, additional fields how I could quickly identify those without the default dimensions, but no joy there.

A question on this one: I have accessed the default dimension config package, and have managed to populate the necessary fields, but when I exported the template, there are 3 fields namely: ParentId, DimensionId, DimensionValueId. They had some sort of string information in them, so, when I add my new information into the dimension fields, can I leave these 3 fields blank and then import the config package?

Use this checkmark in configuration Package, that is available in BC.

Thanks very much, I sorted by date last modified, so that I could see the batch of new customers added that did not have default dimensions, and then used your suggestion above and it seemed to have worked perfectly. Thanks very much!
