Accessing records across business units in microsoft portal when the Entity permission is set to Contact and the related records (N:N) are in a different business unit

I have a custom many to many relationship between account and contact, the entity permissions are set such that all accounts related to the contact should be visible in the portal but surprisingly only related accounts that are part of only one business unit are available. I want all the related accounts to be available regardless of the business unit they belong. Is it possible?

    The Entity List that was working in the background had a view that had a filter on owning business unit which restricted the records from other business units.
