Hi ,

We got a customer setup were people are receiving/processing/sending e-mails from within the Dynamics CRM 2013 application. This works great.

But the 1 remaining question I have is, why are e-mails sent from my Dynamics CRM not visible in the mailboxes sent items folders?

Thanks in advance

Robin

A quick check - On the 'E-Mail' tab of the 'Set Personal Options' screen, do you have the 'Allow Microsoft Dynamics CRM to send email using Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook' option checked? If not, would recommend flipping this on and verify if the e-mails appear under the sent folder.

    Hi Robin,

are you using Microsoft Dynamics E-Mail Router or the Outlook Client to send out emails? It is by design that e-mails sent by Dynamics CRM will only be saved in Sent Items folder (Exchange) in the second case.

Please let us know if this helps.

Thank you for using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Communities.

The e-mail are being send by the e-mail router.

This is a bit of a weird design flow in my opinion, there is no double check possible on exchange level for outgoing e-mails..

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi Robin,

thank you for the response. The following is a limitation of the SMTP Service not of the email router itself. We have the following mechanism which will allow you to keep track of emails which were not successfully sent. When you try to send an e-mail message which has e.g. reached the possible size or has invalid characters or recipients) the Microsoft Dynamics CRM-Exchange E-mail Router cannot cannot create the e-mail activity and deliver the e-mail message. Instead, the e-mail message is delivered to the Undeliverable folder in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM mailbox.

In addition you can enable server and router traces to be able to understand the cause for the email not being sent.

If saving of the mails sent by Dynamics CRM is required in your particular organization, you can use the Outlook Client in the outgoing options of the users instead of the router.

Please let us know if this helps.

    Hello,

I am using Dynamics 365 and Server-side Sync. My users are using heavily using Outlook (Office 365) for receiving / sending email. I have created an email via workflow for them to send after some touch-ups but they want to see it in their send folder.

Robin so does that mean that it is not possible to see messages sent from the CRM in my Outlook sent items folder if my email options are as follows?

Incoming Email: Server-side Synchronization or Email Router

Outgoing Email: Server-side Synchronization or Email Router

Appointments, Contacts, and Tasks: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Outlook

    Hi,

I have done this to test this, but have an issue.

As you can see from the screenshot below (in Spanish) status is set to NOT EXECUTE(see highlight) . I have set outgoing mail to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for outlook.

when both are set to SERVER SIDE SYNC all works fine.

    Any tip??
