Dear colleagues,

I have this error: "Item allocation failed. Location directive failure for work order type Finished goods put away does allow work creation without location (Put)." when I am trying to Report as finished the Production Order.

I have posted Picking list, Route card and Job card before this.

After some googling I understood that the error can be connected with the wave functionality, but this functionality is not even set up for us, we do not use it. So where the error comes from?

In order to get some details of the error I switched on the Enable work creation history log. Otherwise it just showed me that "Some work was not created."

    Hello Tatiana,

This is because you use advanced warehouse during your report as finished process. Make sure your finished good is either configured to use simple inventory warehouse (marked as shown below), or setup work templates, location directives, etc. for your warehouse to make it work. System is just instructed to try to find the proper location for put away because warehouse (and likely your finished good item) are setup to use advanced warehousing functionality - and it is trying to create work for it.

    Hi Tatiana,

Did you find the reason for this problem? Or solution to it?

    Regards,

    Vinayak

    Hello Komi,

Thank you for your answer. The work templates are empty. Since we are not using this functionality we did not set up any of the work templates for any work order type:

Do you think that it may be because we are using Job cards in the Production order?

    Hello Tatiana,

This error is linked to work template. You would need to check the query on your work template and confirm there is a warehouse record on the query.
