Where do we typically store sales data in an enterprise? CRM service rep role, needs access to sales data.
Would you use web service calls to pull in data from ERP? or migrate sales numbers in CRM?
Do you think sales data from POS or website or AX – should it be in CRM?

I have the same question (0)Hi Venkat,
This is a good question that i think will be answered as "it depends". We just worked with a customer to integrate the GP sales invoices into CRM utilizing SmartConnect. One of the reasons we did this was to provide quick visibility to the invoices to the sales reps and they wanted to create dashboards in CRM with this information. Now there are a number of other ways to do this with PowerBI being a great way to accomplish by having this reach into your ERP system and pull order / invoice information and then surfacing this dashboard in CRM, which works well. Also with this approach you have the real / live information at any time. So, it can be done in multiple ways, and it really depends on the business case. I have seen it work well in both cases.
If I had to recommend a single approach instead of the "it depends" then I would suggest leveraging BI tools that pull the appropriate CRM data from CRM and the appropriate ERP data from the ERP and expose this through CRM dashboards or just through PowerBI or the BI tool of choice instead of trying to integrate everything into CRM.
Hopefully this is helpful.
Thanks,
