A record for XXXXXXXX was removed from the Sales Master Number Setup table.

While running check links for the sales module, thousands of records were removed from the SOP40500 (Sales Master Number Setup). The complete message is this:

"A record for XXXXXXXX was removed from the Sales Master Number Setup tableno corresponding record was found in the Sales Transaction History table."

I spot check a few and they don't exist in either SOP work and history. Any idea why this is happening?

    In order for the charges to be tracked as the sales document migrates from Sales order to Invoice and subsequent fulfilments I utilise the master number of the order. However it turns out that the master number can end up getting shared by more than one document. chase credit card login

    I ran the script from late Richard Whaley, referenced on Mohammad Daoud blog. This one replaces the sopGetMasterNumber stored procedure but it didn't help, I got the same results. I guess this only resolves the problem going forward.

    I would start up by resolving the root cause of the problem for master number tracking. You've got two options to choose from provided on MVP Mohammad Daoud blog, here is the article. The article starts talking about a different issue, although, the scripts provided shall resolve the problem completed.

    You can proceed by running checklinks after applying one of the scripts.  Remember, back up is a must.

    Actually, I don't think that wouldn't have anything to do with it

    Someone must have changed the Next Number in Tools/Setup/Sales/Receivables Management-Options.
