Fixed Asset Service Date vs Acquisition Date

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We purchased a vacuum last fiscal year and entered it as placed in service 6/30/16 (our fiscal year end).  It was included in our FY16 reports as an addition.

For some reason the acquisition date was entered as 7/14/16 (new fiscal year), so it is showing as an addition in our FY17 reports.  To fix this problem should I just change the acquisition date to 6/30/16?  Will it cause any problems with FY16 reports?

We use GP2013

Thanks

RE: Fixed Asset Service Date vs Acquisition Date

Have you depreciated the asset? Have you considered just removing it and re-entering it with correct dates? That may have been exactly what you said, but I would for sure pick the easiest method available

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
