I have a new VPN and want to login to print invoices remotely. I am able to login and access GP but it moves very slowly.

We have resolved our problem by utilizing Logmein.com as a remote log in. Remote access worked to access our system, but slow, and printing was always error out. Thanks.
IF it it just a single user who needs remote access, an easier way is to setup a normal desktop machine (or laptop) in the office, then use Remote Desktop to connect to that machine. You will have the same benefits as using Citrix or Terminal Server, but a lot easier to manage for your IT folks. But again, this is only good 1 or 2 remote users. Once the number grows, Citrix or Terminal Server is the better choice.
Karen, a couple options exist for you in GP 2013 to extend remote access to GP. As I mentioned in the previous post, Terminal Server and/or Citrix are standard methods of doing this. GP 2013 also provides a Web Client to extend GP remotely, although if your IT company knows nothing about GP, I wouldn't recommend this. They should be familiar with Terminal Services however, so that is the route I would recommend. Here are a couple very good blog posts that explain how to deploy GP in a Terminal Server environment:
Please respond with any additional questions.
Frank, thank you for your reply. We tried to set-up the VPN with GP on a laptop. It did not work, error messages all over the place and when it did work it was slow. I am trying to relay to my IT company, who is not GP knowledgable, what our next step would be. Could you elaborate on the other ways that this can be accomplished with GP. Just to recap; I have salesman in another state, they need to be able to generate and print invoices. How does GP work for this?
How are you logging in? To Citrix or a Terminal Server or do you have GP installed on your local machine? If the latter, then you will have slow response time as this is not a supported or recommended configuration for remoting into GP.
