Can a new custom field in Contact Entity be synchronized to CRM for Outlook? If yes, what is the procedure for the same.
Thanks,

No, Outlook cannot be extended that way. However, when you open up the Contact in Outlook, as long as you have the CRM Plugin installed, you will see a button that say "CRM Fields" that will have your custom values.
But it does take an extra click to see custom fields, and they're not truly integrated to Outlook.
Thanks for this. However, i think there is some confusion.
I am extending the contact entity in CRM 2016. I need it to be synchronized to Outlook. When i open the Synchronize fields form in CRM under settings, i dont see the new field that can be mapped to outlook.
Correct, and it never will. The only way to see that field is through the Contact UI, it won't sync.
okay, thanks. I am trying to prepare for a cert for CRM Online 2016. and was stuck at this question. If i understand you correctly, the correct answer should be B.
You are a Microsoft Dynamics CRM system administrator for a company. You added a new field to the contact entity. A user reports that the field is not
synchronizing with Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook. You need to explain why the field is not synchronizing.
What could be the cause?
A. The field was not enabled for synchronization.
B. New fields cannot be added to the synchronization settings.
C. The field was not mapped to a field in Outlook.
D. The synchronization direction from CRM to Outlook/Exchange was not set.
You have it!
Thanks, i will take that. However, its strange that in one of the posts for CRM 2015, it was said that they will allow custom fields to be synced to Outlook in the next version.
Hi, Can you please comment on this one?
You have a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2016 environment.
Which three functionalities are available using role based security? Each correct answer presents a complete solution.
NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.
A. Deny users access to certain fields on a form.
B. Define who can see entity level information.
C. Sign in to Microsoft Dynamics CRM with a single sign-on.
D. Define customized forms for the users to which the role is assigned.
E. Control whether a user can add attachments to entities.
