We are running Office 365 with Outlook 2-016 locally. We are also using CRM online with the plug-in, all under Windows 10!!

Result: Outlook crashes frequently in office and more frequently when using external internet connections.

Any ideas out there? this has been happening for quite some time and out IT people have not been able to identify the cause let alone solve the problem.

    Hi AFC,

Try to open the outlook in safe mode, choose Run-->type Outlook /safe

It still there were problems, there might be some problems with the Add ins. Disable other Add ins and restart the outlook.

    Go thru the link:

It looks like, that the SP1 of the Outlook Client has a bug.

    I tried the following:

    1. Today I reinstalled my client with a clean Windows 10 installation.

    2. Installed the Outlook CRM 2016 Plugin (without the service pack).

    3. The client run the whole day, without any problems.

    a. Also closed and open CRM about 10 times to test it.

    4. I upgraded my client with the Outlook CRM 2016 Plugin SP1.

    5. After the upgrade, I started Outlook and got the message, that some things are maintained.

    6. After this was finished, I was able to work with outlook.

    7. I closed Outlook and reopened it and it immediately crashed.

    Hello Michael.

Have you tried to deactivate all Add-Ins in Outlook with SP1?

That would be an interesting test.

    Kind regards

    Karsten

I tried to disable all addins except the crm add-in => outlook crashes

After disabling the crm-add-in, outlook works as excepted (no crashes).

I have experienced problems with the Outlook client since 2011. Some companies with their environments are more affected than others. The search for a solutions has always need a long time and many companies have give up the Outlook client.

    Hi,

not using the Outlook client is not an option.

Currently I'm waiting for a response from a Microsoft engineer.

In the meantime, we will use the client without the SP1.

Wish you good luck for finding a solution and maybe you could post the response from the Microsoft engineer.
